Overview
A sophisticated, dual-purpose 'SafeHaven' application designed to protect domestic abuse survivors through the principle of plausible deniability. Disguised as 'ChefAI' - a fully functional, high-end recipe finder - it conceals a secure evidence vault and legal alignment engine.
The Origin Story
Project Dana was built out of a direct need for survival. Having experienced severe coercive control, I realised that the hardest part of securing a conviction is proving the 'pattern of behaviour' without alerting the abuser. You need a legitimate reason to be using the app. v2 (ChefAI) hides the sanctuary inside a functional recipe service.
ROIReal-World Impact
This platform successfully demonstrates how AI can act as a forensic auditor. By translating emotional logs into legally-aligned evidence while preserving the raw truth, it empowers survivors to break the cycle of gaslighting with empirical data.
Challenge
Survivors of domestic abuse often lack a safe way to document incident patterns without retaliation. Furthermore, legal and police institutions require factual, chronologically-structured 'Forensic Witness Statements' that are incredibly difficult for a traumatised person to compile manually.
Solution
A 'Hidden in Plain Sight' architecture. The 'ChefAI' surface layer is a polished, working recipe application that stands up to scrutiny. Specific 'Stealth Triggers' unlock the Secure Vault. Within the vault, an AI Legal Engine analyses logs for indicators of Coercive Control according to Scottish Law, while a Child Welfare Tracker monitors handover timeliness and distress flags. The system enables one-click exports of structured forensic reports ready for family court and police.
